The year is 2033. After the election of Hillary Clinton in 2016, the nation began coming apart at the seems. Eventually, the racists, sexists, and xenophobes fled underground, building a new civilization they called the United Remnant. The tolerant and diverse people that did not flee underground looked to distance themselves from the sordid past of the United States, and thus the People's Commonwealth was born. Now, the Remnant has become an existential threat to the People's Commonwealth, causing no end of problems for the struggling state. In the battle of culture, which side will survive? Will good finally triumph, or evil reign?
